(Must be 18 to 25 years of age and a high school graduate)
Set an example of a righteous Latter-day Saint in dress, speech, action, spirituality and fun at all times.
Be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
Attend all workshops, study assigned materials, get to know the staff, and practice assigned camp activities. (examples: Dutch oven cooking at home and memorizing camp songs.)
Prepare a few counselor-related items on own time and at minimal personal expense before pre-camp; specifics explained at workshops. (TNT Boards, Unit Prayer, FHE)
Obtain a Utah Food Handlers Permit at own expense by pre-camp.
Participate in and complete camp opening assignments as directed.
Attend and be on time for weekly Staff Meeting on Sunday evenings.
Follow your unit’s schedule as outlined in the weekly camp program. Be in camp and on the job at ALL times.
Set a proper example and standard of etiquette, respect, professionalism, spirituality, and fun for the girls in your unit and those in camp.
Get to know each girl in your unit and help her gain the most from her stay at Brighton. Think of the girls’ individual needs and act accordingly.
Report to Directorship for immediate supervision. Report problems to the Directors and work under their direction towards a solution.
On SOS week (staff on support), follow your assigned schedule, be prepared to support the staff members and camp programs as instructed by the Directorship.
Carry out any other duties as given by the Directors and Brighton Council.
Submit mid-season personal evaluations.
Participate in end of season cleaning to get camp ready for winter.
In addition to housing and meals during the camp week, earn $3700 paid throughout the camp season.
