President Kerry Zimmerman Marshall (Zim), worked six years at Brighton as a KD, counselor, assistant director and with her husband as maintenance couple. She sometimes plays her harmonica at the Brownie organ.  With over 20 years of experience in the Young Women program, Zim has served as stake YW president and camp director.  She has also served as stake Primary president. President Zim loves to see the Beehives’ testimonies grow as they develop a love for Heavenly Father in the beautiful mountains at Brighton.  She and her husband, Kuhn, have four wonderful children and 10 awesome grandchildren.  Two of Zim's children and a daughter-in law have also served on staff at Brighton.

First Counselor, Cary Bushman Wall (Carebear), enjoyed four years of service as a camp counselor, first aid specialist, director and recently on the executive committee.  She loves getting to know new friends and is most comfortable seated around a campfire with her guitar in hand.  Carebear has loved the youth she has served as ward camp director and Young Women advisor, and in several positions at the Salt Lake Institute of Religion.  From personal experience, she knows how Brighton changes young girls’ lives for it was during her week as a camper that she found a sure testimony.  Carebear and her husband, Keven, have two darling children, Hannah and Spencer.

Second Counselor, Mary Cook Edwards (Duke), worked at Brighton for three years, first as program director and later as director.  She served a mission in Scotland and occasionally performs Scottish songs and jigs to the delight of everyone at camp.  Duke’s ward and stake service includes over 10 years in the Young Women program as an advisor, camp director, and counselor in the YW presidency.  She is a foodie, a closet cookbook reader, and an avid hiker.  Her favorite aspect of Brighton is watching the Beehives gain testimonies and in turn treat others with love and respect.  She and her husband, Stephen, are the parents of charming twin daughters, Lizzy and Audrey.

Secretary, Chris Smith Rasmussen (Meadow), loved her summer as a counselor at Brighton and has served as a ward camp director.  Among the highlights of her experience as a teacher in Primary, Young Women, and Sunday School, and as a seminary and institute instructor is seeing her
students’ gospel understanding increase and their testimonies grow.  She feels deep reverence for the power of inspired music, having worked in both ward and stake music callings since her youth.  Meadow also enjoys facilitating personal-organization workshops based on scriptural Creation
accounts.  She and her husband, Stan, have three fine sons, two beautiful daughters-in-law and three adorable grandchildren.

Additionally, our priesthood leaders have called a new executive committee.  Together with this group of dedicated and talented women, and with trust in the Lord, we are working to create the opportunity for your Beehives to have fun and uplifting experiences this summer and in the future.  How we love Brighton, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and the special privilege we have to serve in this capacity!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, concerns, or comments.  We would love to talk with you at any time.  We wish you all a happy Thanksgiving holiday and a merry Christmas season. We look forward to seeing you at the kick-off meeting in March 2012
