WHAT IS THE MOUNTAINEER PROGRAM?
When the Brighton Camp schedule is not completely filled with Beehive campers, we offer a special Mountaineer program for 3rd and 4th year campers.  Whether or not we are able to offer a Mountaineer program depends on how many spaces are available after our regular registration takes place.  We will post information on this website as soon as we are able to do so.
It also requires 18-20 girls to hold the Mountaineer program.  Even if offered, if there are too few Mountaineers registered, the Mountaineer option will be cancelled.  In this circumstance, all registered Mountaineers would be notified, and fees refunded.

Q.  Who can attend Brighton as a Mountaineer?
A.  MIA maid-age Young Women who are 14 (or going into 9th grade in Sept.) or 15 (or going into 10th grade in Sept.) are eligible to register and attend as Mountaineer Campers.  Usually they are 3rd and 4th year campers.

Q. How do I register as a Mountaineer camper?
A. NEW FOR 2017!  If a Mountaineer Week is available, note the date & time the registration link will be activated.  First come first served!  Spaces are awarded to those with earliest time stamp as your online registration form is completed.  Those obtaining a space and who live along the Wasatch Front ARE REQUIRED to attend registration on Saturday, April 29th from 11:30-1 pm to turn in forms and fees. You will be notified by email if you have secured a place.  Any no-shows on Saturday will rescind your reservation and the next in line will be notified to send in their form and payment.  I am aware possible exceptions may exist.  Please contact me if necessary.

Q. Why is the registration process changing this year?
A. In the past, the registration process has been frustrating and unpredictable for campers and parents who took several hours from a Saturday morning, waited in line, and ultimately were turned away empty handed as all spaces were quickly filled.  Many had driven hours to be there.  We see this new option honoring the first-come, first-served policy, but allows you to participate from your home, without waiting.   We hope to find this process a more resourceful use of your time, and ours.

Q. What does it cost to attend as a Mountaineer Camper?
A. All Mountaineer Camper fees are $145 per camper.  Please make checks payable to Brighton LDS Girls Camp.  Cash payment also accepted.

Q.  Where do I turn in my registration if I am notified that I have a spot?
A.   At the Valley View Stake Center (2245 East 3900 South) on Saturday, April 29th  from 11:30 to 1:00 pm, open house format. You will turn in both your paper form (with all signatures) and your payment.  Those applying AFTER APRIL 29th will be contacted by email to then mail in form and payment.

Mountaineers make great KDs!  We hope you will consider applying to work as a KD (Kitchen Darling) when you turn 16!!
