ASSISTANT DIRECTOR (AD)
(Must be at least 20 years of age or 1 year post high school; 1 year Brighton employment experience required)
Set an example of a righteous Latter-day Saint in dress, speech, action, spirituality and fun at all times.
Be worthy to hold a current temple recommend.
Attend Directorship training meetings in January and other designated times.
Assist in interviewing potential staff members with Brighton Presidency.
Assist the Director in planning and preparing workshops, trainings and camp programs.
Participate in camp opening; fulfill assignments to get camp ready for campers.
Obtain a Utah Food Handlers Permit at own expense by pre-camp.
Attend and be on time for weekly Staff Meeting on Sunday evenings.
Assist the Director with staff assignments during camp staff meetings.
Lead Sunrise and A&B hikes as assigned.
Maintain the safety and upkeep of R.O.P.E.S. courses.
Schedule the R.O.P.E.S. course events for counselors.
Lead S.O.S. (supporting staff) in conjunction with the Director.
Be responsible for and manage all program equipment: cookout unit boxes, cookout sites, Dutch ovens, ropes, rappelling, zipline, overnighter, weekly decorations, Brownie Hike and supplies
Assure re-stocking is done as scheduled.
Supervise "overnighter experience,” providing a positive experience for both staff and campers.
Help with maintenance projects as directed by missionary couples and Brighton Council.
Encourage proper use of camp trails, cookout sites, etc.
Assure garbage runs are done as scheduled and when necessary.
Submit mid-season personal evaluation.
Accept and carry out other duties as requested by the Brighton Council.
Assist Director during Christmas Eve/Day and move-out activities.
Help clean and get camp ready for winter; Dutch oven transfer to the storage unit.
In addition to housing and meals during the camp week, earn $3,600 paid throughout the camp season.
